Headlight maintenance: keep your lights nice and bright.

Driving in the dark or in bad weather can be difficult. Maintaining your headlights could help ease the stress of driving in these conditions.

Headlights must be kept in good working order, it is a legal requirement.

Headlights should be a part of your regular maintenance checks.

These are some important things to look out for.

Always make sure your headlight casings are clean.

Check brake lights and indicators.

A friend can help look around the vehicle while you work the controls from inside.

Be aware, sometimes you may not notice a blown headlight.

Most of the time you will notice a drop in brightness first, or veichles flashing their lights at you may be another indicator.

If your indicator blinks faster than it should, it might mean it’s not working correctly.

If replacing bulbs, its better to do so in pairs. There’s a high chance the other one won’t be far behind.

If you’re in not sure, call to arrange an appointment with your local garage.
